Ritu's fish

Here is the finished board from the airbrush post. 5'9'' 21'' 2 5/8'' Ritu usually rides short single fins. He wanted a board that could get more speed in smaller mushy surf. after seeing the airbrush post he purchased a matching jump suit. Note, matching Om sign and pinline.

The Sun Rises in California

Last March, the crew from Real Surf Shop in Izu, Japan came through town. They help me distribute my boards in Japan. They are alaia enthusiasts. While here, we went to the beach with a pile of boards to ride

I rode the 9'8'' hollow. Funny it is the middle of summer and I still need to wear a fullsuit. The water around 64 degrees.

This was Naoto's first time on a bluegill. I still have not cranked a turn like this. Naoto owns Real Surf Shop and is a former top professional in Japan.

Kai is the shop manager. He ripped on every board this day. That is a 6'10'' Stuth.

Kai again on a 5'10'' fish.

Naoto doing a Tom Curranisque bash off the mush on a 6'6'' Bluegill. I want to thank Shin Yamasaki for sending these pictures and helping with translation.

Summer wood supply and fresh boards

I just received my latest batch of really nice lumber. It is light and clean. I now have light lumber for the shorter boards, and denser, sturdier lumber for longer, wider alaias. The water is warming up and alaia enthusiasts are stoked to get some wood under their feet.

Getting Paulownia is very difficult and expensive, and the story behind this batch is customs difficulties, permits, storage fees, shipping costs, and the cost of the lumber itself. Luckily, I have developed good relationships with the lumber yards from whom I purchase it from. When looking for Paulownia, I suggest purchasing it from me. It will save you a lot of time, and headaches. I am happy to sell when I have a surplus. Usually distributors are not interested in shipping a small amount of wood. I usually sell it in a blank, Up to 7' around 17.5 inches wide by 7/8'' thick.

Here are some new boards, The Mini Logs are 8'0'' 22 1/2'' wide. The Fish is a 5'8'' Quad. The bluegills are 6'1'' and 8'0''.
