7'4'' Epoxy Bluegill

This board is made with the Entpropy bio resin. It is clear and will remain clear. It is 35 percent organic compared to the 75 percent organic of the amber tinted resin. So if you have to have a clear board you can still support the organic movement. The blank is recycled foam.

6'6'' Stuth retired from duty

I brought a new alaia to Patagonia, Cardiff for demos. It is 6'8'' and wider by a inch then the board in the photo. The board pictured was there for over two years. It is time for a change and this one needs a tune up. I will take pictures along the way to show how I do it. A lot of people have tried out the board over time and it is still very sturdy, and once re -oiled wii look new.

7'10'' Bio Mini Log

This one is for Tim. The board is shaped witha recycled foam blank and glassed glassed with 75% organic epoxy resin. The deck is a 1/8th inch wood veneer. The board weighs the same as a polyester board with the same dimensions. This board is really strong. With the wood deck and wood rails, like I put on the bluegills, this board will have a nice positive flex that will create speed and momentum that only wood can provide. Tim will also have the bonus knowing he is using the most environmental conscious products in the surf industry.

This was not easy. I did not use a vacuum bag. Luckily, Carl Ekstrom was at the factory one day, and I asked for advice he had on attaching the wood. One great thing about being in SD is the knowledge walking around at any moment. Carl told me he just had a conversation with Tom Morey who is doing something similar. Well, I took the advice and it worked. Still it was not easy, but I am happy with the outcome. I am sending the board to Central Coast Fiberglassing for the rest of the glassing. They are really good with epoxy.

I had to finish this stand up board this weekend, I brought my daughter, Sydney, to work. We were the only ones in the factory and she was bored. I gave her my phone and told her to take some pictures.

Mike's New 8'6''

Mike had a 8'6'' Yater that he grew up riding and learn to surf on. He wanted something similar to the old board, but wanted a a edgy rail in the tail. The Yater is a round 50/50 nose to tail. The board is not a noserider, so he wanted some edge so he could do some tail surfing. I shaped it he glassed and finished it. I am sure we will have some video soon.
