Sandbar Session

This is a video of some friends and I surfing a sandbar in 2009. This was a small day in February. The constant larger surf had carved out good banks up and down the beach. Hopefully they will come around this spring. The wood longboard is a 9'8'' hollow airplane wing type construction and weighs 32 pounds. A little heavy on land but in the water is easy to move around. Wood boards have great momentum. In small tubes where the lip breaks on your back, the board pushes right through out onto the shoulder with little interruption. The guys are riding single fin longboards 9'0 and 9'6.'' Jason Buck, orange board, is riding a 9'0" 2 plus one and JoJo is riding a 6'2'' Wegg

I met Joe Hodnicki when I was in Maine in September. Their I was introduced to his art work. A lot of it is surf related and really good. Joe is also a super cool as well as a alaia and handplane enthusiast.

At the moment he is in the top 16 for designing this years Xgames medals. It would be great if he got the surf community vote. Please see the above link and vote for Joe.
