Bluegill
This one is for me. 6'6'' wood bottom, wood cork wood rails, glassed with Entropy bio resin, and shaped out of a recycled blank. I tried cork in the rails this time. I want to see if their is any difference in flex. I have seen Paul Jensen and Danny Hess's wood boards using cork on the rails. They look really good. I don't think cork is much lighter, if any lighter than the wood I use, but I think it will be interesting to see how impact compression reacts from rail dings.

I think one of the problems of cork is that cork has manny "micro holes" and absorves more resin than wood. Great job congrats.

what a beauty! does the wood on the bottom have any effect on the ride?
ReplyDeleteI do belive the wood adds to forward momentum. Wood eems to drive through white wash sections better than foam. I also think the wood has good flex charcteristics. It shoots out of turns a little more. I pasted the whole board before laminating. Once laminating I did have to be careful to make sure the cork did not have any air, but it wasn't much of a problem.
